Minhajul Islam is a passionate young volunteer and aspiring journalist from Khedabagh village, Lalmonirhat, a border district of Bangladesh. Born on January 31, 2005, he grew up with a deep sense of social responsibility and compassion for people in need.
He completed his SSC from Church of God High School, Lalmonirhat in 2020, and his HSC from Lalmonirhat Government College in 2023. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Communication at Green University of Bangladesh. Alongside his studies, he continues his journey of service to society.
Since 2018, Minhajul has been actively involved in local, national, and international voluntary organizations. For him, the word “volunteer” is not just an identity it’s a way of life. His mission is simple yet powerful: to stand beside the helpless, serve humanity, and build a compassionate society.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when fear and uncertainty gripped the nation, Minhajul stood by his community. He organized awareness campaigns, distributed masks, and helped people register for free vaccination by going door-to-door in Lalmonirhat town. Over the years, he has led and participated in numerous community initiatives, including:Organizing blood donation and supply drives for hospitals and clinics, tree plantation and environmental awareness campaigns, anti-drug seminars in schools and colleges, distribution of winter clothes and educational, materials among underprivileged children, cyber safety and internet awareness workshops, free blood group testing camps, awareness sessions on sexual and reproductive health rights for teenagers, meat distribution among poor communities during Eid, anti-corruption courtyard meetings, city clean-up drives and campaigns for environmental protection, promoting safe and nutritious food for children.
In addition to social work, Minhajul is also active in the cultural arena, performing in dramas and songs to spread awareness and joy among common people. Despite challenges and criticism, he continues his mission with dedication and self-fundingbecause serving others gives him true happiness.
In 2021, Minhajul founded the Shadhin Bangla Youth Library in Lalmonirhat. Through this initiative, he encourages local youth to develop reading habits, engage in creative discussions, and participate in social awareness activities. The library has become a hub for young changemakers in his communication.
Minhajul dreams of becoming an investigative journalist who brings forth the unheard stories of rural communities and exposes the truth for public good. He believes journalism is not just a professionit’s a responsibility toward the nation.
With his pen, voice, and compassion, he aims to serve the country, raise awareness about social issues, and uphold justice through truth-based reporting.
His life motto is simple yet profound: “The purest happiness lies in bringing a smile to someone’s face.”
